We chose American Sign Language as one of our foreign languages. It’s important to learn the language pretty well before bringing it to the kids, so I’ve been working on some online lessons and learning to finger spell.

These videos have been very helpful. I do not use them when teaching the kids. For the kids, I incorporate sign in everyday situations (for now, it’s pretty basic, but I am improving). My daughter is also working on finger spelling.

Two members of our family are fluent in ASL which is very helpful. My little sister is an interpreter and we are working on a collection of short fairytales, fables and songs in ASL to share with the kids. I hope to have some videos up soon.
